Wow, I think yesterday was a living example of yin-yang at work. Being one that enjoys watching this sort of flow back and forth between people and situations, it was a very interesting day.

But, first, Friday night I went out with several old friends and some new ones to The Vortex in Little 5. Of course, I was running late, but at least I got to go! I had an absolutely fantastic time. :) I think hiding away in my house for so long I had forgotten how much I can enjoy people. I was, unfortunately, a little tired from staying up the night before, and from working all day Friday, but not so tired that I couldn't appreciate them all. Hopefully, this sort of thing will become a more regular occurance in my life. :)

I came home kind of early. I was at the house by midnight, crashed in bed about 12:30-1am, then I was awake again by 3am! Yuck! I did get everything done that I had blown off Thursday night and Friday night in time for the meeting yesterday, so that was a good thing. I even did the sketch for the Dead Dog Party art.

I made David leave an hour and a half early for the meeting so we could go to Lee's Golden Buddha/Mo Mo Ya down in Buckhead for lunch. This is by far my favorite Chinese/Japanese restaurant in Atlanta - at least as far as atmosphere goes.

My favorite Japanese restaurant for the food would have to be Sakana-Ya, for sushi it would be Sushi Yoshi, both are on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Chamblee. But those are other stories for another time.

The reason I love Mo Mo Ya is because you walk into it and it is just peaceful, even when it's fully packed. I have a favored table in the back dining room in front of a wall of glass that looks out onto the Japanese garden (pond and waterfalls and all) in the back. The people that work there are never anything less than kind. They have memories that would put computers to shame (even when I have been gone months at a time, they remember me and what my favored foods are). The food, while some of it not "traditional", and definately more Americanized, is very good and at least for lunch, not very expensive either. All in all a wonderful place to just go, sit, relax and watch nature in the garden.

Then on to the meeting at the Hyatt. There was a convention, fund raiser, or party of some sort going on for a group called 100 Black Men of Dekalb. I haven't had a chance to look them up and see what kind of group they are, but when we got there, they were setting up for their events, putting up art work, and jewelry that looked to be for sale perhaps. One gentleman was hanging some of the most exquisite artwork. It had a distinctive New Orleans jazz feel to it, full of bright bold colors. I really wish I had had enough time to chat with him about it.

But on to the meeting. All in all, it went very well. It was lengthy, as the last meeting before the Con usually is. No one truly irked me off, which I attribute to me taking time prior to the meeting to get into the right frame of mind. I have some changes to the schedule to make, then if I get the go ahead, will be sending the grid to the Daily Dragon to be posted, and the entire list of descriptions and everything to the main Dragon*Con web site. I sat with Matt and

eugie, two of my favorite people in the world - this I also attribute to my lack of wanting to kill people. It's hard to get too terribly vexed when you are in good company. :)

I was invited to an informal Tribe staff thing at the Marietta Diner after the meeting by

closer2myself but I was worn out. So worn out, that I came home and was in bed by 10pm! I even slept until 7 am, that's like nine hours... in a row! I really wanted to go hang out with the Tribe staff though - ah well, maybe next time. :)

Now, I am going to go put together and send out some emails about scheduling, then I am taking the day off. Well, that's not entirely true, I am just taking the day off from scheduling. I have got to sort and pack all the Signage and Daily Dragon supplies, and I am going to spend the day sewing costumes. Then I am going threw (or is that thru?) my clothes and pulling out what I want for Con and I am going to pack what I can of that and make a list of the things I can't pack until last minute, that way I won't forget anything.
