Movie Reviews & Work
Apr. 18th, 2004 03:05 pmI know, I know... I promised better movie reviews for The Punisher, but never did it. I guess to keep from having to put a spoiler warning up, I will say, it's a good film, certainly better than the last Punisher but then again even watching grass grow would be better than that. It's a generally fun movie that doesn't try to take itself too seriously, and the couple of scenes that do were way over the top for me, and felt out of place. And yes, I have a high squick tolerance in general, but two scenes in particular made me right ill. So there you go, it's worth seeing, but maybe waiting for it at the rental stores is your best plan.
In other news, I managed to get the Dragon*Con flyers done for the Atlanta Comicon this weekend, despite the world conspiring against me. I am assuming that when the Chairman picked them up they were ok since I never got a phone call with someone frothing at the mouth.
Now, I am desperately trying to complete another project for Dragon*Con that makes me question my own sanity for trying to do it in the first place. *grumble* Of course, I can't really talk about it - you know for a person that doesn't like to keep secrets I sure have a lot of them...
Watched Lost in Translation on DVD the other night. It has a very indie movie feel which I really liked. Personally, I wasn't fond of the ending, but over all another enjoyable film. Wached Ringu again, it's the movie that The Ring was based off of, and I still prefer it. It just makes more sense, although the American one does get kudos for the whole creepy eerie visual effects. Seems like I watch a lot of movies... but I realized once that while most people like to listen to music while they work, I prefer to have the tele on, or a movie. I guess the moving images are more comforting to me. Music on the other hand distracts me to no end. Chock another one up to the weirdness of me.
Going to go pop in Shiri now - it's a Korean female sniper/assassin flick - and get back to work on the project from hades.
