In other news, the husband's company has supposedly mailed us the check. They will "let us know" if they will repay any bounce check fees. Nice. *note dripping sarcasm*
For those of you that responded to this post: Urgent Request for Your Voice to be Heard, I thought I would let you know that thanks to the overwhelming responses, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has asked the Supreme Court to hear the appeal. I feel awful for missing out on going to see Van Helsing with
jollyroger13 (happy birthday by the way!),
peateandrepeat,
feygirl, and
drcat. I would have been unpleasant company had I gone though. Money stress makes me a very unpleasant person in general, mostly because it makes my brain want to shut down, no matter how much other stuff I need to be doing. Still, I hope they all had a fantastic time, and that I get to see them soon. :)
I tried to talk with my mother about my business idea (nope, can't tell you guys what it is yet, just hang in there though - I hope to have it live in less than 4 weeks). I think she tries to be supportive, even though most of the time I get the feeling she thinks I have several screws loose. (Which in her defense I do have.) My dad thought it was a good idea - I called them mostly for his help in making sure I have all the right paperwork done since he use to own his own small business and he was a CPA. He's still not doing well, and now my mother isn't either. Her blood pressure was really high on Friday when I spoke to them, but would she call the doctor? Of course not.
I think the latest fiasco has motivated the husband into looking for another job, and into seriously helping me with the business venture. Not that I am convinced it's all that great, but I think it could make me enough to finance my film - which of course is what I REALLY want to be doing.
I have yet to tell my parents that I think college isn't going to be for me - that I have learned more on my own than I ever did in school, but honestly, with them both being ill I don't know that I want to get back into the "art's a nice hobby, dear, but you need to have a real profession" talk again.
I can't wait to tell them their only grandson wants to be an actor... that's going to go over well with them, even though I personally think he's spectacular and that he would be really good at it. Further, I am at times jealous of his fearlessness - no way I could stand on stage like he can. Heck, I can barely draw a sketch without worrying over what everyone else will think about it - as if it really should matter what they think.
In any case, I have wasted enough time for now - so back to the treadmill!
