Tattoos & Firefly
Jul. 21st, 2003 02:33 amI had an incredible last few days!
Friday, I went with
gossamyrrh to watch her get her tattoo done. A very handsome, heavilly tattoo'd man at Psycho Tattoo did it. She had a female symbol with a pisces symbol inside the circle tattoo'd in the small of her back. The man that was doing the work was amazing, very skilled at his trade indeed. Even though he worked pretty quickly, I think that
gossamyrrh was rethinking her "could you make it a little bigger than that" statement. heh
I have never sat and watched anyone else be tattoo'd before, though I have a tattoo of my own, a little B&W dragon on my right ankle. I have to say it made me want to get my next tattoo really badly. I have wanted something on my left shoulder blade for quite some time. At least the last 7 years, maybe even longer. I have had my dragon for 8 years and I actually had it done to see if I could tolerate the pleasure/pain of a tattoo enough to get the shoulder done. I have been working on the drawing for the last couple of days. It's almost finished. It's a little difficult to explain what it looks like. I suppose it's kind of tribal looking and is a male and female angel embracing one another in a ying-yang symbol. Maybe tomorrow I will get around to scanning it, in any case, once it's done, I think I am heading over to Psycho Tattoo to find out how much it's going to cost. With Dragon*Con and the Senior Director's Retreat coming up though, it might just have to wait a while longer.
Saturday, I got up and made lasagna, salad and a fruit salad and packed it all up and headed over to
eugie and her husband's house for our Firefly marathon with my husband and son. We had a wonderful time! I have never gotten to see all the episodes in a row, and more importantly in the right order.
Fox Network is definately on The List. I was ticked enough when they played them out of order, then they cancelled the show mid-season, they have three episodes they never even played, and then they canceled John Doe. But that's a rant for another time.
Hobkin (
eugie's pet skunk) wasn't terribly happy to have so many strange people invading his house, but he was still adorable as ever! He just makes you want to snuggle him to death.
After the Firefly marathon we all sat around chatting and generally having a fabulous time until the sun started to come up - that's my signal that it's time to go to bed.
Ah... good food, good movies, good conversation and good friends, what a terrific way to spend the weekend!
