Yay! It's basically done... the image on the left is the sketch, the one on the right is a really (I mean REALLY) quick B&W conversion so you will all have a basic idea what it will look like.

I wasn't sure I was liking the way the wings were turning out, but now that I see it all done and together, I am seriously in love with it. It's going to absolutely suck if I have to wait to get it done now!

That looks really nifty, I want to get another tattoo as a gift for myself sometime hopefully this Fall or Winter.

I didn't realize you already had a tattoo(s)? I only have the one so far, but I am really psyched about this one.

It's funny that you should call it "a gift to yourself". I was just talking to David last night about it and the way my family reacted to the last one.

I was 25 or 26 when I had the dragon done, and I didn't tell any of my family about it since I didn't really feel it was their business. When my mother found out about it, all she could say was "how could you do this to me?"

I tried many times to explain that it had nothing to do with her, that it was something I did for me. I don't think she ever did get that.

Anyway, thanks so much!

That is really well done! I like the design and the incorporation of a picture within a picture.

Very cool!

Thank you very much! I am really pleased with it (even if I wasn't while I was working on it).

Very cool! That is a beautiful design. Are you sure you want to get such a beautiful tattoo on your shoulder where you won't be able to easily see it? I always forget about my faery tattoo on my hip since I can't see it, but I *love* seeing my foot tattoo.

You know... I have been thinking about that, like maybe putting it on my shoulder or something.

This is going to sound a wee bit strange (ok, maybe not since it's coming from me), but there's a place on my left shoulder blade that just feels, hmm... I am not sure how to explain it. It's almost like it aches to have something there. My ankle was the same way. There's a place on my neck, too.

But you are right, it will suck no one will ever get to see it. Argh! Decisions! LOL

P.S.

Cat was telling me that you are also an artist, I wish that had come up at the housewarming party because I am jonesing for some new artist friends!

I left all mine behind when I moved away from Virginia. I'm only in touch with two now, but it's not the same because life has that funny way of changing things.

Yea, he told me that you were an artist when we were at lunch last week. I can't believe it didn't come up at the party, but then I don't really talk all that much about being an artist.

He was telling me that you are from Columbus, too - talk about a small world. Of course, I ran from there like a banshee just as soon as I could.

Anyway, stop your jonesing, I have arrived! heh

WHAT?!

You are from that hellhole too? Another Columbus runaway? Woah, that's weird (Twilight Zone music)

I left that place as soon as I turned 18 and went off to UGA.

Were you born and raised there?

When and where did you graduate from? I went to Hardaway.

Not born there, I was born in Atlanta, went to a foster home in Macon, then was adopted when I was three weeks old and taken to Columbus. I guess that is just as bad as being born there - yuck!

I left when I was 18, ran as fast as my little feet could take me away from that place that makes hell look like a summer beach vacation.

Now I am having Twilight Zone music in the background, because I, too, graduated from Hardaway High School (class of '87).

You know where Richard's Junior High is? My parents' house is literally across the street, on the corner. (If you are at the Junior High, facing the direction of Hardaway, it's the one on the left.)

The first about 8 years I lived up here in Atlanta I only went home to visit twice. If my parents wanted to see me, they had to come to me. But when my father got to ill to be able to travel much I started making more trips down there. Now, I am trying to talk them into moving somewhere else - anywhere else. Going "home" is like walking into my own grave.

Right scary (in a good, eerie kind of way) we have so much in common. :D

Ok, now I'm going to have to bust out my yearbooks. I graduated in 86. I went to Richards for 8th grade, Brookstone before that.

The plot thickens....

Wow.

Oh my gosh - that's eerie... we went to school together??

I never had my senior picture taken, so you wouldn't see me in an '87 yearbook. But if you look in the Juniors for '86, I am listed under "Tina Morrison". I need to dig out my yearbooks too now because I can't remember anyone's names very well any more! :D

Ok so my annuals are up in the attic and I can't get to them just yet. But I was sitting here, trying to think about the people I knew or knew of in HS.

Since I am not sure you want people to know your "real name", I am going to ask, were your initials back then P. A.?

Because if you are who I think you are, I have such a secret for you... :D

Yep, my initials are P.A.

I'm wearing pearls in my senior photo.

Ooo, I wanna know a secret!

I'm a very private person, which is why I'm kindof secretive.

No worries, I understand being private, which is why I didn't put the name up here.

I dunno if it's really a secret, but all through high school you were one of the people if anyone had asked me, I would have said I most wanted to be like. I wouldn't say I had a crush per se, especially since I was trying very hard to be 'straight' back then, but I definately admired you.

I kept thinking you looked really familiar at the party, but I guess it never occurred to me to think back to high school, especially since we are so far from there! Anyway, that's about it. :D

Wow, thank you! You're right, high school is so very far away. So many faces have faded over time.

Plus, I have NEVER come across anyone since I left that either went to my high school or is actually from Columbus. Part of being a rolling stone and living all over the place, I suppose : )
