Ok, so shock, the check from 2 Friday's ago wasn't in the mail today - aren't we all surprised?

We have one of the two checks in the bank now, but the bank of course put the ten day hold on it. Well, that's not completely true, as long as I keep calling every day, they will keep calling the other bank to see if it cleared, as soon as it does, they will release the hold. Unfortunately, this means things can still bounce.

On the up note, the husband finally sent out a mass email to all those that needed to know, and guess what? They stopped payment on the second check, you all remember, the one they couldn't be bothered to overnight because Corporate supposedly wouldn't ok it. However, they did arrange to have it wired into our account - I guess having everything in writing to the bosses made someone actually DO something.

Bad news though, this coming check isn't going to be auto-deposited either... so I will be back on that "ten day holding" pattern again like with the one check.

They wanted us to fax to them today all the bounce fees, but I refuse to do so until all checks have cleared. I mean if anything tries to redeposit (as we all know things can), and it bounces, it will be because they didn't get us the money in a timely fashion. If I send them a list now, they won't cover anything else that doesn't clear, and well, that doesn't work for me.

I am still undecisive about going out tonight. On the one hand, it might be good for me to be away from the house and not thinking about all of this, but on the other hand, I don't think I would be the most pleasant company tonight. (Although I am admittedly in better spirits than Friday).

In any case, thought I would let you all know that there is some hope, but things aren't completely resolved yet. Just keep your fingers crossed that my red hair, Irish, Taurean blood doesn't make me go postal on someone. :D

Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive during this fiasco - I promise to be back to my "terminally perky" state as soon as this is over.
