Busy, but not too busy to see Bad Boys II
Jul. 30th, 2003 11:04 amYesterday was one of those days that everything seems to want to try to blow up.
I spent most of the day working on the latest changes for the tracks' schedules. Then there were too many fires to count, one after the other. I can't really talk about them at the moment.
Unfortunately, every time I tried to leave my house to go to the Border Pagans group, the phone would ring. Around 9:30pm, I finally gave up and decided to go to a movie instead.
I went to see Bad Boys II since it was one of the few things playing so late, plus I really wanted to see it. I have to say, it had some corny scenes, but they were few and far between. Mostly, it's a high paced blow sh*t up and shoot people flick with a decent storyline. I have to say I really enjoyed it, but then again how can you not enjoy watching a $300 million mansion get leveled??
At least I got out of the house for a little while too, which was the whole reason for going to the movies since I knew I would never make it over to Marietta at a decent time. I didn't really want to go out by that point, but I knew that part of it was me just being reclusive.
I had to go to the grocery store after the movie. Some guy followed me from the movie to the store then kind of shadowed me while I shopped. He even checked out when I did, but he only bought one thing, weird. He was giving me that weird heebeejeebee feeling too, so I had one of the very nice maintenance men at Kroger go out to my car with me. I felt a little weird asking the maintenance man to go to the car with me but it was like 1am, and he was really nice about it. But, major thank yous to him!
The guy was sitting in his car right next to mine with the engine idleing. He started to leave when I did, but the guy that went to my car with me "accidentally" stepped in front of him. I took the long complicated route home and called David on my cell phone. So, in the end, it really wasn't a big deal. I wasn't even scared, which was kind of weird for me. Guess I just don't get scared like I use to about those things.
I couldn't sleep when I got home, but what else is new lately? I think I am just tense because I know time is running out and it feels like I have so much to do. Plus, I realized I never ate yesterday. Ok, I realized it because I was having a lovely fit of the hypoglycemic shakes. Yay, glucose tablets and food!
Matt and
eugie wrote up some descriptions for me for the main programming - thank you so much! I am working on that today since I have a programming meeting tonight. Oh,
eugie, please tell Matt I said: plbtzzzzz! :)
In other news:
As glad as I was to see this, I am still disturbed that it got three days before "live" and that $600,000 was spent on it before it was pulled.

Date: 2003-07-30 03:57 pm (UTC)I've been followed before too, and it was frightening as hell and I handled it in a similar way.
When I lived in Athens, a lady in the Kroger parking lot near where I lived at the time was abducted and gang raped for hours in her own car until they were caught in another state.
::shudder::

Date: 2003-07-30 04:41 pm (UTC)I am glad you were ok too! (Even if it was back when you were in Athens)
I have a weirdness magnet like you wouldn't believe, I guess that's why I wasn't more scared than I was, plus I had that very nice gentleman with me. Maybe if I had to go out to the car by myself I would have been more scared.
